The Social-Economic damage caused as a result of Armenians’ agression upon Azerbaijan

The beginning of Upper-Garabagh conflict has its own historical purposes, aims and results. Due to historical falsification and artificial map “The Great Armenia”, 2 military, financial support, Armenia started agression against Azerbaijan in 1992-93. As the result appeared about million refugees and forced settlers. That agression braught a great deal of economic and moral harm upon Azerbaijan territory, ecology, and population, 10 administrative districts of Azerbaijan such as Khodjavand, Khojali, Shusha, Lachin,, Kalbadjar, Agdam, Djabrail, Fizuli, Gubadli and Zangelan were occupied, settled points of other regions, boarding with Armenia were absolutly plundered and peaseful population were forced to leave their native native homes. Total 890 towns; villages and settlements with Azerbaijani population at Azerbaijan territory Upper-Garabagh AR were completely destroyed. Besides that, 464 highly valied historical monuments and museums were destroyed and robbed rudely. Azerbaijan, possessing reasonable geopolitical location, is one of the most ancient settlement of the ancient human (famous Azikh Caves, Fizuli district). In Caucas region were formed a great number, of nations, peoples, ethic groups who got along very friendly.

Amoung local people sometimes happended conflicts but after Russian and Iranian invasion began the black days for Caucasus.

Short Historical Information.

Evidently, after occupation of Caucasus Russian, Iran and Turkey began to drive Armenians out of their lands, who had to remove to the lands historically belonging to Azerbaijan. In 1828 was formed an administrative district between Erivan and Nakhichevan chans. It consisted of 100 villages and 60 of them were with Armenian population.

At the beginning of 20-th century Armenians made mass genocide actions in which more than 100 thousand of Azerbaijanis had been killed in mountancous and lower Armenian regions. In 1988-89 241,8 thousand Azerbaijanis, 18 thousand adjemi kurds and Russian-language citizens were exiled from Armenia. (22 regions and 170 settlements). Total during that period 243 thousand people were driven out of their homes by force. Among them 410 Azerbaijanis were

Cruelly killed (57 woman, 23 children, the rest-men). On the result 172 Azerbaijani villiages located on the Armenian territory were destroyed and occupied (8 thousand square kilometer) according Batumi agreement signed in 1918 the territory of Armenia constitues only 9000 square kilometres but after occupation of Azerbaijani lands it increased to 40000 thousand square kilometres.

Early in 19th century at the Armenian territory located about 2000 thousand Azerbaijani villages but presently all those settlement points have been renamed. The quantity of Azerbaijanis and Armenians settled in different times on the present Armenian territory.

1. Statistic collection about refugees and forced settlers of Azerbaijan Republic-1999

2. a) population of Azerbaijan Republic Statistic collection. b) Statistic definitions of Azerbaijan Baku-1997.

Due to table we can see that during period from 1989 to 1998 the birth had decreased sharply but death increased, and real population increasement decreased a lot. In these years in the regions as Djabrail, Gubadli, Zangelan and Agdam the real population increasement decreased 16,9-22,6 % per cent.

There exist other causes of real population decreasementin those upshown regions. One of them is the social-economical situation of the population, hardships of refugees and forced settlers and hot climate of Central aran zone. The most important problem of refugees and forced settlers is unemployment. According to information of Refugees Committee of Azerbaijan Republic in 1999 labourable refugees and forced settlers contained 301359 people among them 65,2%-unemployed. (Statistic collection of refugees and forced settlers Azerbaijan Republic) Baku. 1999. page 8

74 thousand forced settlers are locating in tent-camps. 99 thousand in settlements(houses), 175000 in public houses, schools, nurses 202000 in sanatoriums, pansionates, tourist camps and health-improvement centers. 1564000 at their relatives and and friends and the rest on farms, in carriages and other places, where there is no electricity water and gas.

In 1999 in Central aran some of settlers died because of high heat. In 1993 Organization of United Nations received 4 resolutions according which the Armenian armed troops had to set free illegimately occupied territory of Azerbaijan Republic but Armenian separators are ignoring the norms of international law and do not liberate our lands.

Armenian agression caused a great daamge for economy of Azerbaijan, which legs the reform performing and influences macroeconomic definitions of the country and prevents the further development of economy. Inspite f the support performed by government to refugees they get humanitarian aid from the international organizations, they are the poorest part of population. Here are shown the damage definitions caused by Armenian separators during (189-1998)
